Week beginning - Monday 10th November 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!Â
Year 3 continued their natural disasters theme this week, exploring earthquakes. Our VIPERS reading lessons led us to the depths of the Earth's core and back again as we finished our book 'The Street Beneath Our Feet', which gave us our first look at tectonic plates. We have since discovered that the movements of these plates are the cause behind the world's earthquakes. We looked further into this and discovered although the UK can experience earthquakes, we are not near a major fault line, so the earthquakes here are not as bad as in other parts of the world. With all this new knowledge gained, we decided to create a Podcast to show it off, so in small groups the children have created host characters and special guests who were caught up in an earthquake. We can't wait to hear the stories when the Podcast go live!

This week Amelila has been on fire and shown what a principled learner she can be. She has tried hard in every subject and has shown real perseverance in Maths which at times she can find tricky. Keep it up!

This week, Sienna stole the show as she showed the class her risk-taking and knowledgeable side. Sienna has worked hard on her Podcast script all week, reading her progress out to the class. We can't wait for the final piece. Well Done!

Over the last few weeks, Harry has been a real risk-taker and put lots of effort into his Maths work. Harry is almost an expert at 2 digit column operations and he is now working on problems that involve an exchange! Great work!
