Week beginning - Monday 3rd November 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!Â
This week Year 3 have started exploring natural disasters. We started by simulating how we would react if the school was hit by one of these disasters. We then looked back at what we did and evaluated our chances of survival. Some harsh lessons were learnt, like if a volcano erupted near us, jumping up on a table and allowing the lava to surround us wouldn't work the way it does in the 'floor is lava' game. We have also studied the schools 'Lockdown' and 'Fire' procedures, looking at the roles and responsibilities for the grown ups and children. We then used all this knowledge to create a child-friendly procedure which we tested out with some very helpful year ones!

David has worked incredibly hard to be involved in all our lessons this week, developing his subtraction skills and having a 'can do' attitude to everything, from learning new concepts to conferencing with his classmates. Keep it up David, I'm very proud of you!

You have been trying really hard to STRIVE for success this week. We were particularly impressed that you independently wrote instructions for your emergency plan and shared them so nicely with your Year 1 partner. Keep up the good work, Jack.

Laethan, as always has shown what a knowledgeable, reflective inquirer he is. Laethan came up with great questions to ask our expert visitors and then thought long and hard about what to include and how to present his child friendly version of our Lockdown procedure. Great work!
