Religious and Moral Education at Dumbarton Academy encourages students to explore the beliefs, values, and traditions that shape individuals, communities, and societies around the world. It provides a safe and thoughtful space to reflect on moral issues, personal identity, and the worldviews of others.
In RME, students learn about major world religions, non-religious belief systems, and ethical challenges faced in modern life. They are encouraged to think critically, express their own views respectfully, and develop empathy and understanding for others.
Through open discussion and enquiry-based learning, pupils build key skills in reflection, analysis, and respectful debate—skills that support their personal development and prepare them to be thoughtful, responsible citizens.
At Dumbarton Academy, Religious and Moral Education is not about telling students what to think, but helping them learn how to think deeply about what matters.
