Welcome to the Art and Design Department

At Dumbarton Academy, we believe that creativity is at the heart of a well-rounded education. Our Art Department provides students with a vibrant and supportive environment to explore their ideas, develop technical skills, and express themselves through a variety of media. From traditional drawing and painting to sculpture, printmaking, and digital design, our curriculum encourages experimentation and individuality.

We celebrate the unique voice of every student and aim to foster confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for the visual arts. Through projects, exhibitions, and links with local and national arts initiatives, students are given real opportunities to shine—both in school and beyond.
