Assessment

Speaking: This is an individual speaking test - students give a formal persuasive speech about a festival covered in class. Students need to convince others that their chosen festival is the best one. Success criteria: use persuasive language, use formal language, include relevant cultural information, minimum of 90 seconds, minimum of 150 words.

Inquiry Questions

Factual Questions: What are the most important festivals and traditions in Spanish-speaking countries?

Conceptual Questions: How do verbs change to form the past tense? How do languages differ regarding capitalisation of months, years, nationalities. 

Debatable Questions: Why do certain countries have certain festivals and traditions?
