Statement of Inquiry 

To communicate about school in different countries, it is necessary to understand the grammar patterns and structure of language.

Competencies

(1) Communication: I can communicate in a clear and connected manner, making it easy for audiences to understand what I am trying to express.

(2) Colllaboration: I can work with other members of my group to make sure our collaborative process is as effective as possible

Assessment

1) Reading Test: students view a text with pictures about school in Spain on their own laptops while answering multiple choice comprehension questions. Students are marked on demonstration of reading comprehension.

2) Speaking Test: students work in small groups to produce a video tour of Island School in Spanish. All students appear in and speak in the video. Students are given a three-part structure to follow when producing the video. Video length - 1 to 2 minutes. Students are marked on pronunciation and content.

Inquiry Questions

Factual: What is my school like? What is school like in different countries?

Conceptual: Why do we go to school?

Debatable: To what extent are traditional school subjects relevant nowadays?
