Daily Routine
Statement of Inquiry: When comparing daily routines it's useful to know how cultural conventions differ and how to use the correct sentence structure.
Competencies
(1) Creativity: I can work on projects that are open-ended and unstructured
(2) Communication: I can use different tools and processes to express myself clearly in multiple ways
Assessment
1) Reading Test: students read a daily routine text on their own laptops while answering multiple choice comprehension questions. Students are marked on demonstration of reading comprehension.
2) Speaking Test: students work individually to produce a video about their daily routine and compare that to the daily routine of a student in Spain. Video length - 1 to 2 minutes. Students are marked on pronunciation and content.
Inquiry Questions:
Factual: How do I organise my day? How does a student in a Spanish-speaking country organise his//her day?
Conceptual: What is the purpose of a daily routine? What is the link between daily routine and shop opening hours/working hours in a particular country? Is there a link between hours spent studying (at school and tutoring) and a relaxed/stressed lifestyle in a country?
Debatable: What would happen if a daily routine did not exist?Is daily routine considered important in Spanish-speaking culture?
