Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Honor Graduate
Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Determination will occur at the end of the first semester of the senior year. If no graduating student meets the listed criteria, there will be no valedictorian or salutatorian for the graduating class. he criteria for selecting valedictorian and salutatorian are as follows:
The student with the highest cumulative weighted grade point average, to five decimal places without rounding, is designated as the valedictorian for the graduating class.
The student with the second highest cumulative weighted grade point average, to five decimal places without rounding, is designated the salutatorian for the graduating class.
In the case of a tie for the position of valedictorian, the students who tie shall be recognized as co-valedictorians, and the position of salutatorian shall remain vacant. In the case of a tie for the position of salutatorian, the students who tie shall be recognized as co-salutatorians.
Out-of-district transfer students must be continuously enrolled in the current school for both the junior and senior year.
Early graduates shall not be eligible for valedictory or salutary honors.
Successful completion of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies each year of high school for a minimum of 4 units in each subject area is required.
Must be good stewards of the community by volunteering. This is defined as giving of one’s time, efforts, and skills outside of school class time for the purpose of benefiting the community, without monetary compensation. Services must be completed through a nonprofit organization or local government agency and not be part of a criminal justice sanction. At least 100 hours must be acquired prior to February 1st of a student’s senior year. Service hours accumulate throughout a student’s high school career, including summer. Therefore, it is advised that students complete a minimum of 25 hours of community service each year with a goal of completion prior to their senior year.
Honor Graduate
The criteria for selecting an honor graduate are as follows.
Any graduating senior with a minimum of a 4.0 cumulative weighted grade point average at the end of the first semester of the senior year qualifies.
Successful completion of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies each year of high school for a minimum of 4 units in each subject area is required.

Oklahoma Academic Scholar Recognition Program
Oklahoma Academic Scholars receive a certificate of recognition from the State Board of Education and the local high school, a gold seal affixed to their diploma, and the honor recorded on their official transcript.
Graduating seniors who meet all of the requirements listed below are recognized by the local school district and the State Board of Education as an Oklahoma Academic Scholar.
Accumulate over grades 9, 10, 11 and the first semester of grade 12, a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale or be in the top 10% of their graduation class.
Complete (or will complete) the curricular requirements for a standard diploma.
Achieve a 27 composite score on the ACT or 1220 combined reading and mathematics score on the SAT
The ACT or SAT must have been taken on a national test date or state administered test date. For students with documented disabilities requiring testing accommodations not available on a national or state administration date, a qualifying score on the ACT or SAT may be demonstrated using alternate administration dates.
