Benefits

There are many benefits to attending Metro Technology Centers for high school students, such as: 

Eligibility

High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors may attend Metro Technology Centers’ Biomedical Sciences Academy, the Pre-Engineering Academy, or the Computer Science Academy. Students must have maintained 85% attendance from the previous semester, have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, and must have completed or concurrently enrolled in Algebra I, Geometry, and Science with a B or better.

For all other programs, high school juniors and seniors must have maintained 85% attendance from the previous semester, as determined by the home school, and must have completed core requirements for 9th or 10th grade before enrolling. 

Students interested in attending Metro Tech programs should visit with their high school counselor as early as possible to manage all graduation course requirements and save room for their preferred program.

Enrollment Process

The following steps are usually completed at the student’s high school with the guidance of Metro Technology Centers’ Advisors/Counselors. 

Step 1: Attend a presentation at your high school. 

Step 2: Complete the high school application on Metro Technology Centers’ Website. 

Step 3: Return all forms to the Metro Technology Centers’ Advisor/Counselor for your high school.

Step 4: Visit with a Metro Technology Centers’ Advisor/Counselor to finalize the enrollment process.
