Fiction and non-fiction texts are used to build vocabulary, syntax, and pragmatics.

This course focuses on development of foundational reading skills through a transition from phonemes to words, sentences, and connected text with the integration of speaking, listening, and writing.

Students continue to increase their basic English vocabulary, foundational grammar skills, and reading and writing English words in phrases, sentences and paragraphs.


Additional Information: This course should be taken in addition to Sheltered English I and, in most cases, Sheltered English II.
