Students who graduate through OSA's program receiving C- or higher in all A-G courses will have met eligibility requirements for both the UC and CSU systems.
The University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems require incoming freshmen to complete specific courses in high school in certain subject areas. Each subject area is assigned a letter (a-g). To receive "a-g" credit, schools have to submit each course to be certified through UC.
Students must complete the a-g courses listed below to be eligible for a diploma.
A: History/Social Science (3 years including Gov/Econ)
B: English (4 years)
C: Mathematics (passing Geometry and Algebra II)
D: Laboratory Science (2 years including Biology and Health)
E: Language Other than English (Completing year two or taking 2 years of the same language)
F: Arts Elective (1 year)
G: Academic Elective (1 year)
*A grade of a D is not UC eligible. Students who earn D's in any A-G requirements are advised to retake the semester. An NP, NC, or F grade indicates that a student has not passed. Students who earn NP's, NC's, or F's in any A-G requirements must retake the semester.
