Why Do Concurrent Enrollment?
What Early College Credit can provide:
Access to classes not offered by OSA
The potential to earn college credits prior to graduation
The potential for students to be more competitive in the college admissions process (students show that they are able to complete college courses)
The potential to save money later on by earning college credits
As of the summer of 2019, grades earned from ECC courses are counted on a 5.0 scale
Three ways to access ECC classes:
Taught on our campus (Dual Enrollment)
Online on OSA's campus (Concurrent Enrollment)
Taught at the local community college (Concurrent Enrollment)
On our campus:
We have created a partnership with the Peralta Colleges to offer Statistics and English 1A on the OSA campus. These courses are taught by Peralta professors during the Fall semester
Students can access online A-G approved college courses via Peralta or Saddleback
*Please note that ECC courses are separate from Oakland School for the Arts. To get credit for courses, students must request transcripts from the college and submit them to OSA. In addition, OSA does not oversee ECC courses. Students with questions or concerns about Peralta or Saddleback curriculum, grades, or faculty must reach out directly to those systems.
