Your Four Year Plan and Typical Class Schedules for Each Grade
Students must complete the a-g courses listed below for an OSA diploma.
A. History/Social Science (3 years including Gov/Econ)
B. English (4 years)
C. Mathematics (passing Geometry and Algebra II or Data Science)
D. Laboratory Science (2 years including Health; 3 years will be a requirement starting with the class of 2023)
E. Language Other than English (2 years)
F. Arts Elective (1 year)
G. Academic Elective (1 year): Business of the Arts 9th Grade will be a requirement starting with the class of 2024, Business of the Arts Senior Capstone is currently a requirement.
*Subpathway arts courses are required
The sample grade level schedules below meet all UC/CSU A-G Requirements. Any courses marked with a * are optional, but may be recommended by certain colleges/universities. Individual courses of study for students will vary based on courses completed in middle school or via concurrent enrollment.
9th Grade- 5 on campus classes required
English I (required)

Spanish I, II or III* (honors options for II or III) - students may wait until their 10th grade year to start their language courses
A semester of Business of the Arts (required)
A semester of Health/Navigating life (required)

English II *honors option (required)
Geometry or Algebra II (required)
A lab science like physics, environmental science, or computer science (required)
Spanish I, II or III* honors options for II or III (two years of language required, 3 recommended)

English III *honors option (required)
Algebra II, Pre-calculus *honors option, calculus *college level, or statistics *college level (Alg II required, others optional)
