2025-2026 School Year FAQs:
When will Report Cards be Coming Out? Teachers have until January 12th to finalize Semester 1 grades. Report cards will be sent out the week after that, around January 20th.
When will I get to See my Schedule for Next Semester? You will be able to see your Semester 2 schedule on PowerSchool in early January.
Will I be Able to Change my Semester 2 Schedule? Middle school schedules will not change. If you are in high school and you have a valid reason (i.e., a class is missing; you already took a class; you are scheduled for 2 classes at once; etc.), you will be able to change your schedule. A schedule change request form will be posted when we come back to campus on January 6th. You will not be able to change your schedule to switch periods, have a different teacher, be in the same class as friends, etc.
Do I get to Switch my Pathway Access Class Next Semester? Pathway Access class changes depend on which pathway access class you were enrolled in for S1, as some classes are semester-long and some are year-long. If you do not know if you are in a semester- or year-long course, check your email! You would have received an email from Ms. Schultz on December 10th and 18th titled "Please Select Your Pathway Access Class for Semester Two" if you are able to change your pathway access class. If you received that email, follow the steps listed and fill out the form to choose a new class.
What If I Want to Switch my Year-Long Pathway Access Class? Priority is given to students in semester-long classes. After they have all been scheduled, there may still be room in some classes for you to switch out of your year-long course. More information about this will be sent to your email in January.
How do I Send my Semester 1 Grades to the Colleges I'm Applying To? Your counselor will do this for you, so no need to worry! Once S1 grades are finalized, your counselor will send out mid-year reports through the Common App to the schools you are applying to. The UCs and CSUs do not accept mid-year transcripts. For any other schools, please consult their websites. If they would like a mid-year transcript, please request to have to sent to the school through your Parchment account.
Do I Need to Fill Out the FAFSA? If you are applying to a 4-year college, community college, or trade school program for next year, YES! Filling out the FAFSA can make you eligible for financial aid and scholarships. The FAFSA is due by March 2, 2026, but we highly encourage you to submit it as soon as possible (so you can get as much money as possible). If you do not have a Social Security Number, you will be filling out the CADAA instead of the FAFSA. Please refer to this recording of the FAFSA/CADAA Workshop if you have any questions.
Should I be Applying to Scholarships? Yes! There are scholarships available to all high school students, not just seniors. We recommend that you make accounts on Scholarships.com and Fastweb.com to get started. You can also check out the High School Scholarship Log that Ms. Peña updates regularly.
How Do I sign Up for Community College Classes for the Spring of 2026? Students can register for Spring 2026 college courses by following their dual enrollment processes. All high school students received an email from Ms. Peña on November 10th with step-by-step instructions on how to register for a Peralta class. For more information, please visit our Academic Counseling Website's Concurrent Enrollment Page
