Development of CCSD Drone Insurance Program

When sites use or own UAS/drones as part of an approved curriculum, they have a responsibility to protect CCSD and meet required safety guidelines.

Risk Management has obtained an annual drone insurance policy that allows us to cover liability associated with their use as well as physical damage, to specific drones, during the school year for ROTC and aviation programs. Coverage is only available for drones submitted by the Risk Management Department to the underwriters directly.  

To qualify for insurance, the drone program course objectives, safety practices, and specific identifiable information for each drone must be submitted by the site.

The sites can evaluate their drone exposure by reviewing the insurance company's underwriting questions, using the form below, which is used to determine if coverage is available.
