The District workers' compensation program is currently being administered by a third-party administrator, Sierra Nevada Administrators (SVNA). SVNA has notified the District of its intent to cease operations entirely, effective December 31, 2024. Therefore, the Risk Management Department is currently on working on a contract with a new third-party administrator, Athens Administrators, to process all workers' compensation claims. It is anticipated that by December 13, 2024, this transition will be finalized.

Once the new third-party administrator starts handling claims, they will send an introductory letter to each injured worker with their contact information and the status of the claim. Updated worksite posters will also be printed and made available by December for all staff to reference. Risk Management Department staff will assist during the transition of the claim files. The claim examiners for the workers' compensation third-party administrators will no longer be housed in the Risk Management Department. It is advisable to call or email the Risk Management Department with your questions or concerns rather than coming to the office.
