February Bison Spotlight Students of the Month
February Bison Spotlight Students of the Month
Friday, February 3 is the 100th Day of School Celebration. Students will be able to pose for a picture in front of a popcorn theme backdrop, partake in classroom popcorn-themed learning activities, enjoy a fresh popcorn snack, and each student will receive a mini popper keychain.
Special thanks to the Elementary Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) teacher committee for planning this for our students.
Also on Friday (unrelated), elementary students may wear a hat for $1.00. This is optional. The money is a fundraiser for the Speech Program.
The elementary classrooms will have their Valentine's classroom celebrations on Tuesday, February 14th. Every child may bring a Valentine for each classmate. If you are in need, please contact your child's teacher. More details may come from your child's classroom teacher.
School is closed and there is no new work assigned to students. Stay safe and warm!
Encourage students to read, play indoors or outdoors (as able), and minimize screen time.
2022-2023 school year, we are planning two flexible learning days. Sometimes referred to as E-Learning Day. Thursday, January 19 was the first and there is still the possibility of another.
Reminder: There is a text feature to communicate transportation changes. Please, text 641-458-0223 to indicate any last-minute changes, before or during school. Include student name(s) and transportation change. For example, John and Jane Doe will not be riding bus #4 tomorrow morning.
The Kindergarten - 5th grade second quarter report cards were sent electronically on Friday, January 20. Please reach out if you did not receive their report card.
Preschool report cards will be sent home at the end of February as they grade on a trimester basis.
Please ensure that students have warm clothes, including hats and gloves. We have wonderful community partners that have allowed us to be able to provide attire for any child in need. Please reach out to a staff member if you need assistance obtaining a coat, snow pants, boots, hat, or mittens/gloves.
40’s and lower: Minimum: Coat, Hat, & Gloves. If forgotten, the school provides loaner hats, gloves, and coats to those that request them. They are washed after each child's use.
Snow & Equipment Play: Snow pants and boots are required. No snow pants or boots, must stay on the plowed area.
Recess will always be outside unless: actual temp or Feels Like temp drops below zero (0), ice makes it unsafe to go outside, rain, or other extenuating circumstances.
