Saturday, March 2nd was Read Across America Day! Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2nd, also known as Dr. Seuss’s birthday! Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books, and you can too! Here is the Spirit Schedule for the week following March 2nd.
Monday, March 4th: SILLY SOCKS: Wear your craziest socks to match Fox in Socks.
Tuesday, March 5th: DEAR (Drop Everything And Read): Bring a small stuffed animal to read with!
Wednesday, March 6th: Character Book Parade. WACKY WEDNESDAY: Wear your craziest outfits!
Thursday, March 7th: Cat in the Hat. Students can wear a hat to school.
Friday, March 8th: Oh the Places You’ll Go. Students can wear a college shirt of their choice!

Parent-Teacher Conferences
The conference scheduler will be open for Spring Conference sign-up, March 1-15. Please sign up for a conference with your student's teacher. Mrs. Hobbs, and the special education teacher as needed. Conferences will be held on March 19th & 21st between 3:00 - 7:00 PM on both days. There will be a 2:00pm dismissal both days. Elementary Teachers will be in their classrooms.
Mrs. Hobbs is located in Room #117. Parents of students in Grades 1-3 who participate in Title I Reading are asked to schedule a conference with Mrs. Hobbs.
Mrs. Peterson and Ms. Henn are located in Room #222 (second floor). Mrs. Jutting is in Room #223 (second floor).
Middle & High School Teachers will be in the main gym. Any students not signed up by March 15th will be assigned a time and date. High School Parent-Teacher Conferences
High school teachers will be in the Main Gym for open conferences on March 19 & March 21 between 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Reminder: There is a text feature to communicate transportation changes. Please, text 641-458-0223 to indicate any last-minute changes, before or during school. Include student name(s) and transportation change. For example, John and Jane Doe will not be riding bus #4 tomorrow morning

On Monday, March 25, 2024, all K-5th grade students will be going to see the Des Moines Metro Opera (DMMO) in Forest City as part of the Waldorf Community Artist Series.
The DMMO is performing “Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing.” The afternoon presentation is for students only. The performance will be held at the Boman Fine Arts Center in Forest City. Showtime will be in the afternoon at 1:30. Students will leave school on buses at 12:30 p.m., and return before dismissal. There will be no fee to attend this performance. Teachers will have permission slips at conferences for parents to sign.
