North Iowa Families,
With considering a four day school week, here are some upcoming dates to keep in mind.
February 5 - 5:00 p.m. - There will be a subcommittee meeting in the Makerspace - Join us in exploring solutions to childcare and food scarcity.
February 13 - 6:00 p.m. - A public meeting for staff and parents will be held. NI hopes to have parents and staff from districts utilizing the four day weeks available virtually. This would allow for more input, and allow questions to be asked and answered.
February 19 - 6:00 p.m. - The school board meeting will extend the public forum to one hour to allow community members to speak directly to board members. Limit of three minutes per comment. If three minutes is not enough time, please email Mr. Erickson and/or the board members with your questions or concerns. Reminder that the board does not respond to comments and questions, but does listen. No action will be taken on this agenda item during this meeting.
ATTENDANCE: All attendance must go through the office.
If your child is going to be gone, tardy, or leaving early, please be sure to notify Mrs. Davis in the Elementary Office. The office will inform the teachers of your child's attendance.
AFTER SCHOOL PLANS: It is optional to message teachers, but please do include Mrs. Davis in any email, or text communications about changes or updates to after-school plans.
DURING THE SCHOOL DAY: If you need to get a message to the teacher/student, please call the school at 641-562-2525, and the message will be hand-delivered.
We try to be as responsive as possible to all parties. We use the image on the left to guide our responses to parents. We ask you to consider the same when needing to communicate with the school. If you would like a response within 24 hours, please email. If you would like a response in four hours, please text (numbers listed under the staff tab on the website)
I also want to share that if you send me, Tina Henely, an email you will likely get the following auto-response, "I have received your email. I check emails once per day, and not on the weekends. My goal is to respond within 24 hours when appropriate. This system allows me to maximize my time out of my office supporting students and staff, to promote an exceptional educational experience daily.
If this happens to be urgent, please contact Mrs. Davis, Elementary Secretary at (641) 562-2525 and she will assist you. Have a wonderful day!
