On Friday, October 10th, students walked to the Buffalo Center Fire Department at assigned times throughout the day. Thank you to Nick Hartman, Fire Chief, and the rest of the Buffalo Center Fire Fighters who make this educational event possible.
On Friday, October 10, students in K-Prep through 5th grade will bring home their fall screening scores in their bag. You’ll receive two pages: one showing your child’s FastBridge results and another with their NWEA MAP scores. These parent reports are designed to be easy to understand, and teachers will review them in more detail during November conferences.
If you have any questions before then, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
In addition, any student who has not yet met grade-level proficiency will receive a personalized learning plan (or an updated plan) along with the reports. A letter with more information is linked below.

You will receive a reminder email the day before your conference.
If your family is in need of food, clothing, or a Friday Food Bag, please reach out to Ms. Melz, Elementary Counselor, at 641-562-2525 or kendall.melz@northiowa.org,
Classes will be celebrating their fall class party on Friday, October 31.
Costumes are welcome on this day. Bring the costume to change into for the afternoon. No weapons (even fake) or face paint are permitted at school.
It is getting chilly. Please send a hat, gloves, and warm coat with your child to ensure they are comfortable in this colder weather. Keep in mind there is an AM, Noon, and PM recess.
Third, fourth, and fifth graders are very independent but are often the age group that forgets to bring these items consistently.
The transportation text line for K-12 transportation changes is listed below. Please, text this number to indicate any last-minute changes, before or during school. Include student name(s) and transportation change. For example, John and Jane Doe will not ride bus #4 tomorrow morning.
