Students, their theatre teachers, and chaperones are welcome at the 2025 Iowa Thespian Festival.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A THESPIAN TO ATTEND THE IOWA THESPIAN FESTIVAL!
We encourage all students that are interested in theatre to attend Festival. The Iowa Thespian Festival is an excellent opportunity for students of all backgrounds and experiences to view and enjoy a weekend of outstanding theatre.
Any parents who are interested in attending as chaperones are welcome to join us (see below for registrations costs).
The 2025 Iowa Thespian Festival will take place on November 14th and 15th at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. We will stay overnight at a hotel in the Cedar Falls area.

Lancer Productions will enter two teams in Tech Challenge. The Tech Challenge is a series of events that are designed to test your knowledge of basic skills that every technician should have. The combination of team and individual events underline the principle that theatre technicians do not work alone and an ensemble that works together to accomplish the given tasks makes the production successful. Lancer Productions is the reigning state champion in Tech Challenge and we plan to bring home the championship again this year! - More Details: http://www.iowathespians.org/techchallenge.html

The Iowa State Thespian Officers (STO) are the student leaders of the Iowa Thespian Chapter Board. The STO are selected at the 2024 Festival, and members serve from November, 2024 – November, 2025. They represent all Thespians in the state of Iowa through their efforts on the Iowa Thespian Chapter Board. The State Thespian Officers are selected during the weekend of the State Festival. LP Thespians wanting to complete this process must have attended the Iowa Thespian Leadership Day on 8/6/24 and must complete the application process with Stacie Kintigh.
If you are interested in acting, there will be workshops for you! If you are interested in singing, there will be workshops for you! If you are interested in improv or dancing or stage combat or hair and makeup or lighting, there will be workshops for you! Most workshops will get you actively involved and learning lots of interesting things about whatever area of theatre that interests you!
