Words of Wisdom
Our Principal's words
Dear NIS Community:
I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for our collaboration together this school year. It is a pleasure to work alongside such dedicated teachers, staff, and students who are committed to excellence in education. As the new Head of the School three years ago, my biggest challenge was winning your trust and forming a relationship to build a school that focuses on learning first. However, I am proud to say that in our third year together, we have made tremendous progress. We have built personal relationships, changed the school culture to be more learning-focused, and shown much growth in both academic and non-academic areas.
However, our journey does not end here. We must continue our work together by delving deeper into our new practices and traditions, allowing them to define the new Nibras International School. Let us embrace these changes with open minds and hearts, fostering an environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
To the Senior Class of 2023, as you embark on your new adventures in life, may our TORCH values continue to guide you in making wise choices and positive contributions to the world. Together, let us keep the flame of learning burning bright and continue to inspire one another to reach greater heights. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.
Kind Regards,
Dr. Jay B. Teston

The school year has presented many exciting opportunities for students and teachers to learn and grow. Our community has become stronger through the events, parent engagement and student involvement. I trust this will go from strength to strength.
Becoming better is a continuous process and requires a willingness to learn, practice, seek feedback and have a growth mindset to keep trying.
My 'healthy challenge' at NIS is managing and leading change to improve learning, innovation and student engagement while preserving the values, culture and mission and vision of the school.

The 2022-23 school year has been a resounding success. Students have exhibited a great deal of learning through their projects and presentations. The overall climate of the school is positive and respectful mostly due to the student's willingness to work with their teachers and accept the challenge to do better and be better.
Celebrate your accomplishments but never be content. The minute you stop improving is when other students pass you by. The ability to consistently challenge yourself and earn success on your own merits will serve you well beyond your high school years.
Earning the trust of the students, parents, and community was perhaps the biggest obstacle. I believe maintaining a balanced approach rooted in consistency, fairness, integrity, and hard work proved to families that my primary interest will always be what is best for our students.
I hope you can see that all of the challenges placed in front of you during these last few years had a purpose in your academic and personal growth and I couldn't be more proud of you.

The school year has been progressive! We have adapted, developed and moved forward in many ways, curriculum adaptation, student wellbeing and continually exemplifying the NIS torch values.
Continually work on your reflective skills. Absorb the feedback teachers give you, whether it's about your studies, developing your communication skills, critical thinking skills or your social skills.
My career spans over 20 years but I have been at Nibras for a year....obstacles if anything would be getting familiar with the systems at Nibras and vitally more importantly, building relationships with the student community, the parent community, the support staff and the teachers, without their support the school year would not have been as amazing and successful as what it was.
Your life is your story, and the adventure ahead of you is the journey to fulfill your own purpose and potential. Wishing you all the best of luck as you embark on your journey ahead....Ms. Sabina.

As the assistant head of elementary at Nibras School, leading teachers and students has been fulfilling and rewarding. Guiding and supporting teachers to excel in their roles and witnessing their impact on students' lives has been inspiring. Creating a collaborative and empowering environment within the department has allowed us to strive for excellence together.
Looking ahead to NIS next year, there is a focus on academic growth, providing resources and training for teachers, and implementing innovative teaching methods. Building relationships and fostering a collaborative environment are priorities. Organizing exciting competitions for students and engaging with the community are also important goals.
My favorite part of NIS revolves around two aspects: the opportunity to meet and interact with teachers and students, fostering collaboration and making a positive impact. Additionally, I cherish our family events like Picnic Under the Stars, International Day, and the Community Iftar, which promote a sense of community, unity, and cultural understanding within our school. These aspects enrich our educational environment and create a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

The key to successful teaching i think is being flexible and understanding. We come from all over the world, we have nationalities from all across the world and i think its you know being tolerant and understanding of others, being flexible and having an open mind.
There have been many positive changes at nibras this year, were looking at improving the quality of teaching and learning, we have welcomed parents back far more this year post covid and i think that's really enabled them to have a better understanding as to what their children learn and how they learn in school.
Well in fact teaching kg in any school requires patience, definitely an open mind and a caring attitude. These children often come from home to school with no early years experience so we really are their second family and building up relationships both the parents and the families is absolutely crucial and really giving those children a solid foundation to their early years.
