Social Studies

Social Studies activities brought history to life, fostering a deep understanding of diverse cultures, societies, and the interconnectedness of our world. Through engaging projects and interactive discussions, students embarked on a journey through time, exploring the triumphs, struggles, and transformative moments that shaped civilizations. From role-playing historical figures to conducting mock debates on global issues, these activities cultivated critical thinking, empathy, and a sense of global citizenship. Students delved into primary sources, analyzed maps, and examined artifacts, unraveling the stories and complexities of past events. Field trips to historical sites, cultural festivals, and museums provided immersive experiences that deepened their appreciation for the richness and diversity of human experiences.

Journeying Through Time: Exploring the Tapestry of Humanity in the Social Studies Classroom

"The different units and learning activities in Social Studies explore events and leaders of the past, in the UAE, our region, and our world. It examines contemporary issues and explores solutions. The varied activities across Grades 6 to Grade 12 offer a range of choices in topics and issues to investigate, and it allows for students to voice in how they want to present their understanding. Some examples of this include pamphlets to promote tourism and sustainability, board games for teaching their peers, museum of Ancient Egyptian religion, and making documentaries of workers exploitation".- Ms. Wenche- Head of Social Studies
