NIS Concert

On June 7, Nibras International School made history in what many described as a night of magic. Students from Elementary and Secondary took the stage performing in front of an audience of hundreds and gave a memorable performance. Additionally, our Secondary Art and Technology students put on an amazing exhibition, displaying the hard work they have done this school year.

It is hard to believe that it was less than two years ago that I became a member of the Nibras family and the dream was born. The first year saw many challenges with COVID still in full swing but my amazing team and I laid the foundation of what our dream was for the future of Art, Music and Technology at NIS. This year as a team, we really set out on a mission to make this ‘dream’ a reality. I would like to publicly thank my team of teachers that make up the AMT Department here at Nibras. Ms. Tanzeela and Ms. Yusra. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to our students and building a better NIS. To all of my colleagues, the many members of the NIS faculty, staff; teachers, office workers, facilities, I cannot express enough my gratitude for all of your assistance. A special thank you to Ms. Riham, Mr. James Mahor and Ms. Kathleen for their continued support.

To our amazing community of parents and friends, thank you for your continued support with after-school and weekend rehearsals getting our students ready for the concert. And finally, to my students, my children, all of you that stood on that stage…I sincerely appreciate your courage and thank you for agreeing to be a part of this journey. At times, I think we can both agree, we didn’t know if we would make it to the light at the end of the tunnel, but I think June 7 is evidence enough that we have done it and we have made the dream a reality. I am extremely proud of each and every one of you for what you have accomplished in such a short space of time.

Remember this moment as you made history for the NIS community.

 — Mr. Wilfred Burrows

The Spring Concert was one of a kind. We all worked immensely for it and its outcome was well-deserved. We all had a great time performing and, if it weren't for the greatest teacher and mentor to exist — Mr. Wilfred — we would have never gotten this far. So we must all thank him and love him dearly. He worked hard planning, coordinating, and executing this along with the many classes and grades he teaches in school. Not only that, yet he plans and coordinates other school events. He truly is amazing and an essential role model for me. We should all appreciate him for his passion and effort. And, definitely, love him the way he loves us.
