Patient & Public Involvement & Engagement

Our aim

Our aim is to enable and empower patients, carers and the public to contribute to research in a way that they feel most confident.  To do this we need to support research staff to carry out high quality patient and public involvement in the delivery of NIHR research.

The NIHR's mission is to improve the health and wealth of the nation, and patients, carers and the public are integral to the way we do this.  In CRN East of England we feel that research should be embedded across the NHS and Social Care, so too should patient and public involvement.

2021/2 Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES)

The 2022/23 CRN EoE Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES) Report has now been published, with 92.9% of respondents feeling that they were treated with courtesy and respect. The research staff received a huge amount of praise for the way they treat people, including their professional, friendly and caring manner. 90.1% of respondents said that they would consider taking part in research again.

Thank you to everyone who helped participants contribute to these results, and to everyone who continues to work with us to offer participants the chance to feedback on their research experience through the CRN East of England PRES.
