To monitor the incidence of Inflammatory poly-arthritis (IP) and Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in a community setting.

●To look at the natural history of IP and RA

● Look at the risk factors in the development and sustaining of IP and RA

● Investigating associated genetic factors

● Investigating and monitoring outcomes

● Investigating the effects of treatment

● Monitoring the development of co morbidities, in particular CHD.

Inclusion & Exclusion Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

● Adults aged ≥ 16 years

● ≥2 swollen joints persisting for ≥ than 4 weeks duration

● Onset of symptoms since 1/1/2010

● Living in Norfolk at the time of onset

● Registered with a practice in the Central Norfolk CCGs


Exclusion Criteria:

● Patients who are on the register need not be re-approached. NOAR coordinator will supply your practice with a list of these patients
