Seth Wright, class of 2003, was an outstanding wrestler at Payson High and went on to great accomplishment as well. During his high school years, he was the state runner-up twice (2000 and 2002) and the state champion twice (2001, 2003). He was awarded High School All-American status once in Folkstyle Wrestling (2003) and twice in Greco-Roman Wrestling (2000, 2001). Also in high school, Seth was honored to represent his country as a member of the U.S.A. Greco-Roman Wrestling Team, competing in Bulgaria and France (2001).

In his college wrestling career, Seth also accumulated an extraordinary list of accomplishments. Competing for Northwest Wyoming Community College, he was the NJCAA National Runner-up in 2004 and National Champion in 2005. Also in 2004, Seth's team won the NJCAA Team National Championships. Then, in 2006, he was the Conference Champion of the Western Wrestling Conference and national qualifier, while competing for the Division 1 University of Northern Iowa. He rounded out his college career, winning the NCAA Division 2 National Championships in 2010, wrestling for New Mexico Highlands University. One of Seth's coaches, Jim Zeigler, summarized his college career, “At the conclusion of his career, Seth wrestled in four national tournaments across three different divisions, making the finals three times and winning two titles.”

Seth was inducted in to the NJCAA Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2020.
