Jed Mellen had an outstanding wrestling career at Payson High School, amassing a total win-loss record of 192 wins and 12 losses, which was a state record for most total wins. He made the state finals all four years, won the state championships three times in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and finished as runner-up in 2010. All four years of high school, he was named as a high school All-American by Wrestling USA Magazine and also finished as the National High School Champion all four years. USA Wrestling recognized Jed’s outstanding high school career by naming him to the USA Wrestling (Utah) Hall of Fame in 2013. As one of the nation’s top college recruits, he accepted a full athletic scholarship to Utah Valley University. Sadly, Jed’s collegiate career was cut short due to a career-ending injury.
