Diving, Cross-Country, Track & Field, Gymnastics
Like so many Payson High School student-athletes, Monica Peck excelled in multiple sports. At PHS she competed in diving, cross-country, track & field, and gymnastics. She was also the PHS sterling scholar for Home Economics, a member of the National Honor Society, and the Utah State Representative for Future Homemakers of America. Of her many athletic accomplishments, her greatest are in diving. While in high school, Monica took 3rd place in state as a sophomore (1982), then took 1st place as a junior (1983) and again as a senior (1984), joining the ranks of several other PHS student-athletes who have become multiple-time state champions. She also took 1st place in the Utah Junior Olympics (1982).
For college, Monica attended Brigham Young University and competed as a member of their swimming & diving team. A highlight of her college athletics was being part of the 1985-1986 team that won 1st place in the conference championships (High Country Athletic Conference).
