General information
Ronoth LoStiks work on a Microchip RN2903 LoRa module and all of the RN2903 module’s settings and commands are transmitted over UART using the ASCII interface.
Default settings for the UART interface are 57600 bps, 8 bits, no parity, 1 Stop bit, no flow control.
There are three types of inputs, which are sys, radio and, mac commands.
Sys commands, as the name implies, are about the hardware configuration of the device e.g. factory reset, sleep mode, information about hardware version, preprogrammed EUI address node address, etc.
Radio group commands are to control and configure the PHY level radio features. These commands issue radio specific configurations, directly accessing and updating the transceiver setup.
Mac group commands, however, issue LoRaWAN® Class A and Class C protocol network communication behaviors, actions, and configurations.
Details of the configurable parameters are given in the RN2903 LoRa Technology Module User Guide below.
The LoRa Alliance®, an open nonprofit association, is developing and maintaining LoRaWAN® protocol as the leading open global standard for secure, carrier-grade IoT LPWAN connectivity. Details of LoRaWAN protocol is here.
