Geographical Deployment Areas
AERPAW's fixed radio nodes are being deployed at two sites in the Research Triangle Park, NC: Lake Wheeler Road Field Laboratories and NC State’s Centennial Campus.
Centennial Campus (CC)
AERPAW’s CC site is expanded from the existing CentMesh testbed. It includes 3 Fixed Nodes: CC1, CC2, CC3, that support canonical experiments with USRPs. , LoRa Gateways, a Keysight RF sensor, and an additional 3 Fixed Nodes, CC4, CC5, CC6, include only Terragraph Radios from Meta. CC site does not currently support experiments with programmable UAVs. However, experiments can be carried out among Fixed Nodes. Portable Nodes carried on carts can also be included in experiments.
Lake Wheeler Road Field Labs (LWRFL)
AERPAW’s LWRFL site will be the primary area for experimentation with UAVs. It includes 5 Fixed Nodes: LW1, LW2, LW3, LW4, LW5, all of which support canonical experiments with USRPs. Some of these Fixed Nodes also have additional equipment including Keysight RF Sensors, LoRa Gateways, and an Ericsson 4G/5G base station. For more details on the equipment at each fixed node please check the map below.
