Research: find pictures of the animal you want to use. Find one picture for each style. Full length profiles often work well, animals facing front, often don't.
Save your images to a FOLDER locally, on your computer name it “Alphabeasties_yourlastname”
In Illustrator, start a document (named Alphabeasties) with two pages 8.5" x 11". Decide whether the artboard should be vertical or horizontal orientation so that the animal fills the page.
Place (under File > Place) your image to bring in your images. Lower the opacity of the picture layer, lock it, then add another layer above to place letters.
In Illustrator, research and choose ONE TYPEFACE in the Type tool to use for Animal One - Bembo's Zoo. Type each letter separately in upper and lower case. Make a copy of all of the letters and convert to paths (Object > Expand). This will make them easier to scale and rotate.
