Promotion/Advancement Requirements are listed in the matrix below.

1) Time In Grade

2) Academic Knowledge (academic exam)

3) Practical Knowledge (drill exam)

4) Community / Unit Service Hours

5) Grades in all classes

6) Positive recommendations from the Cadet's Chain Of Command.

Promotions and ribbon awards are tracked by the Cadet Training Officer and entered into the CDMIS record system by the Cadet Administrative Officer.

* All study material can be found in the Cadet Knowledge section on the left side of the bar as well as the Cadet Field Manual (CFM).

* Any/all requirements may be waived by the Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI) / Naval Science Instructor (NSI) but cadets are still required to take the promotion test up to the current rank held.

* Cadets completing Basic Leadership Training Camp or Leadership Academy will be meritoriously advanced.
