Communication Is the Key!

I will contact parents if;

  • There is an issue regarding a student's safety,
  • A behavior is causing continued disruption in class,
  • A student is struggling in a particular area,
  • A student has a significant number of missing assignments.

I would hope that parents would contact me if;

  • There is an injury or allergy that I should be aware of,
  • A significant event at home may cause a student to struggle in class,
  • The student will be out of school for a significant amount of time,
  • Something has happened at school, and the student has not already brought it to my attention,

If you only check your student's binder or backpack once a week,

Monday is the day!

Most parent information from the office comes home on Mondays. Graded papers are returned on Mondays and the grade book is up to date. Permission slips and announcements are in student files by Monday!

On the first day of school a letter was sent home with every student. We reviewed this letter in class and parents signed a return slip stating that they had read and understood the information. I have included a copy of that letter here.

Please see the Contact Me page for the various ways you can reach me.

If students need to contact me outside of the classroom, for questions or concerns, I do check my Google Mail in the evenings and on weekends. I also check the Homework bin daily. Mrs. Etchart's Google Mail

If there is a behavior issue, and the consequences and communication at school is not producing change, a Behavior Warning may be sent home. Please see the page titled Dealing with Behavior Issues to review this form.
