With increasingly busy schedules and the need to differentiate assignments, Moby Max Math adjusts and levels to each student. Also the Tween Tribune assignments are based on the reading level of that student. Writing is expected to be done by hand, not typed and should be approximately 3 paragraphs. Students have all week to complete the work. I will edit and grade every writing assignment so students and their family can see their progress.
We will start the year with homework in Moby Max. Students will be expected to complete 40 minutes of Moby Max Math and 40 minutes of Moby Max Reading (in either Reading Stories or Informational Reading). Students can manage their time. The assignment opens Monday at 8am and closes Sunday of that week at end of the day (10 pm).
I suggest that students complete a minimum of 10 minutes of each, every night until they have their 80 total minutes
(40 math + 40 LA = 80 total minutes)
Math Homework
Homework is 45 minutes per week of math online using the Moby Max program. There may occasionally be assignments posted for specific lessons. Students can complete their math homework in whatever time increments suit their schedule. Examples may be 15 minutes each night for 3 nights beginning on Monday, concluding on Saturday. Again, this program adjusts to the level of the student so they are building and reinforcing skills at their level.
Language Arts Homework
Students also have a reading assignment that is given on Monday using Moby Max, Any additional writing may be due on Wednesday, (as in a blog post that has comments from other students as part of the assignment), or an assignment in reading may be given using Google Classroom, which has the writing portion of the assignment due the following Friday.
Homework is assigned on Monday of each week and will remain the same for that trimester. Occasionally homework passes are earned or given for attending educational events after school or on weekends.
Homework accounts for 10% of a student's grade.
