I keep an electronic grade book using the Q program through the Ventura Unified School District.
The Parent Connect form was sent home on the first day of school with your student's information packet. If you did not receive it, or need a new form, it is available in the school office.
Every student will learn how to check their grades online.
They are given time every Friday to check for missing work that may need to come home to be completed over the weekend.
Grades are updated in the grade book regularly.
If you only check grades once a week, Monday is the best day!
Check the grade book, to be aware of:
1 = Not progressing
2 = Progressing
3 = Proficient
4 = Mastery
Opportunities are posted in the classroom.
Homework - 10%
Classwork - 20%
Projects - 30%
Tests - 40%
With the thought that students are free to get assistance and work with help both at home and at school, tests that must be completed independently, account for the greatest portion of a student's academic grade.
Awards - For an award to be of value and have significance, it must be earned.
Students achieve "Honor Roll" by maintaining an 80% or higher in both Mathematics and Language Arts. Students who demonstrated exceptional skill or progress in one or more areas may also be recognized at award assemblies.
