Players should stay seated in the dugout when their team is up to bat.
General Rules:
Three outs per inning
No base stealing

No bunting
No sliding
A batter is out if:
* A fielder catches the ball.
* They strike out.
* They hit the ball and are then thrown out at first base
* They are tagged out.
A runner is out if:
* They leave the base when the ball is caught and don’t tag up.
* They get tagged by the ball.
* A fielder tags the base before the runner gets there, when they are forced.
A force out occurs when the fielding team touches a base with the ball when the runner is forced to run.
At 1st base there will always be an opportunity for a force out for any ball that is not caught.
Additional rules:
One base is allowed on an overthrow.
The position players include: catcher, pitcher, 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base, shortstop, right field, center field, and left field. Please be in position and alert when playing in the field.
We may require more players in the outfield during game play.
If you are in the outfield and the ball is hit in your direction, your job is to catch or retrieve it as fast as you can and throw it into the infield.
The strike zone is that space over home plate which is between the batter's armpits and the top of the knees when the batter assumes a natural stance.
If the ball passes through the strike zone and the batter does not swing, he/she will be called for a strike.
A "ball" is called by the umpire when the ball does not pass through the strike zone and the batter does not swing. If 4 "balls" are called, the batter is granted a "walk" to first base.
During class our pitchers will not attempt to strike anyone out. They will always aim to pitch the ball in the strike zone.
