The game begins with an underhand serve from out of bounds.
The ball MUST BOUNCE (once) each time before the ball can be struck by any players.
Each team is permitted a maximum of 3 strikes of the ball before it must be sent over the net. (ex. Pass - Set - Spike)
The ball can not be bounced over the net.
If the ball hits the line it is considered "IN". If the ball hits the ceiling it is considered "OUT". Replay interference using common sense.
Players can not strike the ball two times in a row (double hit).
Players can not spike the ball inside the "no spike zone", which is marked with GREEN LINES.
If the ball hits the net and goes over, play continues.
A point is scored every time the ball hits the court within the boundaries and is not returned over the net or whenever an error/fault is made.
The team that did not make the error or allow the ball to hit on their side of the floor is awarded a point regardless of whether they served the ball. The team that wins the point always serves the next point.
When the team that DID NOT serve scores the point, three things happen for that team:
They get the point
They get the ball and will serve
They must ROTATE on the court CLOCKWISE
Here's a look at NitroBall in action:
Notice that when a team scores their server continues to serve.
All players do a nice job trying to pass and set each other up for a spike!

Remember, underhand serving in NitroBall is a must!
A "Carry" is a violation that results in a point for the opposing team. It is best described as prolonged contact with the ball.
You must "Strike" the ball. You can not control it with an open hand.
ROTATION OF COURTS
There are 8 courts in the gym
Top court (court 8) plays to 7. All other games are timed.
People in the bleachers waiting are next onto the court after the whistle.
When you hear the whistle it indicates the top courts game is over.
Winners move up a court and losers move down a court.
Play begins as soon as both teams arrive at the court.
The team waiting in the bleachers goes on the court they are waiting for and the losing team goes to the bleachers.
BOUNDARIES
We will be using the ORANGE LINES on the floor for our boundaries on all of the courts.
