Power Ball

DEFINITION: Power ball is a competitive recreational game. Skills include throwing and catching, defending, and dodging/running.

SET UP:

1. Two teams, one on each side of the center line.
2. 8-10 pins are set up on the designated line of each side.

EQUIPMENT:

1. 20 bowling pins
2. Gator skin balls
3. Cones

OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME:

To knock over as many other teams’ pins and send opponents to jail in a 4 minute time period. The focus is on knocking the pins down, since they are worth the most points.

Rules:

1. Pins can be knocked over by throwing or rolling any ball
2. You cannot cross center line
3. If a pin is knocked over with a powerball (any designated color of ball), the person who threw it gets to set up one pin on their own teams’ side
4. If you are hit with a powerball (any designated color of ball) go to jail on opposite side.
5. If a thrown powerball (any designated color of ball) is caught, go to jail on opposite side
6. To get out of jail, you must make a direct catch of any ball from a teammate (drop the ball and get a free walk back to home side of the court)
7. Make a basket with a powerball (any designated color of ball) in the opposite basketball hoop = all of your teammates are out of jail
8. After four minutes, we will stop and count up the points
9. Each pin knocked down = 2 points; each person in jail from the other team= 1 point
