Learning Intentions – Unité 3 - “J’adore l’école”
1. Speaking. Can you talk about how you feel about certain subjects? You will say how you feel about FOUR subjects, including if you are good or weak at ONE of them. Also, you are to name and describe ONE teacher. Minimum standard: that what is said is in understandable French.
2. Can you understand the French school week. You will be given a school timetable. You will hear 10 sentences about what subjects are on at certain times of the day. Identify the correct one. Minimum standard: 7 subjects correctly identified.
3. Can you listen to and understand times and numbers 1 - 100? You will need to write down, using numerals only, the 6 times and 2 phone numbers read out to you. Minimum standard: at least 7 numbers correct.
4. Can you listen to and spell the two words read out to you? Minimum standard: the 2 words are accurately spelt.
5. Can you listen to and understand French expressions? You will need to write down, IN FRENCH, the French expressions you hear. Min.Stan. - most correct.
6. Can you read and understand the French on pages 26-28? You will be given a passage of French with 10 words missing. 15 words will be listed below of which 5 go nowhere. Choose the BEST word for each gap. Min. standard: 7 words correct.
7. Can you read and understand sentences in French? You will need to choose the best ending for sentences given to you. Minimum standard: 3 correct sentences.
8. Can you read and understand a passage of French? You are to read a passage of French and then answer in English the questions that follow. Minimum standard: 7 out of 10.
9. Directed dialogue. You will be given a dialogue about how people feel about different subjects, how good they are at them, and how they describe their teachers. For each indication in English, you are to give an equivalent expression in French. Minimum standard: at least 3 sentences in generally accurate and understandable French.
10. Can you write about what subjects you take at school, what you think about school and about your subjects, and write about how good you are in some subjects.
