Learning Intentions – Unité 2 - "Toutou le directeur"
1. Can you talk about yourself and others - Introduce yourself and describe yourself (3 things you are, 1 thing you are not). Include your age and the class you are in. Use a linking word.
2. Can you listen to and spell 2 words in French? You will be given 2 words you have probably not heard before. They will be spelt out to you and you are to write them down. Minimum standard: 1 word correctly spelt.
3. Can you listen to information in French using numbers? You will listen to 10 statements using numbers to indicate bus numbers, scores, etc. For each statement, write down the number (1 - 20) you hear.
4. Can you listen to and understand information in French? You will be required to listen to some French and write down in French exactly what was said. Minimum standard: most of your information is accurate.
5 Can you read and understand the French on pages 13-14? You will be given a passage with 10 words missing. 12 words will be given below of which 2 go nowhere. You are to choose the best word for each gap. Minimum standard: at least 7 words correctly chosen.
6 Can you read and understand sentences in French? You will need to choose the best ending for sentences given to you. Minimum standard: 3 correct sentences.
7. Can you write about yourself to a French penpal? You will be required to introduce yourself, give your age, your class, and write at least two other things about yourself. Minimum standard: at least 3 items of information accurately written.
8. Can you write about other people? You will be required to write a brief description of the two people you see. Minimum standard - mostly correct French.
9. Vocabulary. Can you give French or English equivalent words for some important expressions? You will need to learn and write out words in French or English. Minimum standard: at least 12 items accurately written.
