Learning Intentions - Unité 5 - "Un drôle de weekend"

1. Speaking. Can you talk about what you did last weekend? You will need to say at least 8 things you did last weekend. You are to use “linking words” (e.g. après, puis, etc), adjectives, adverbs, negatives, etc. You will be rewarded for using expressive and imaginative sentences, trying to use idiomatic expressions. Min. standard: in understandable French!!

2. Listening. Can you understand someone talking about what they did last weekend? You will listen to someone speaking in French and you are to make notes IN ENGLISH on the key things he/she did. Min. standard: 7 things correctly identified.

3. Reading. Can you read and understand a passage of French? You will read a passage in French about what two friends did in the weekend. You are to answer in English the questions that follow. Minimum strandars: that 7 questions are correctly answered.

4. Reading. French Penpal. Can you read and understand information about different people (p.67)? You will be given information in French about 2 people. You will need to answer questions in English about them. Min. standard: at least 7 questions answered correctly.

5. Writing. YES, are you able to compare things and/or people? You will be given some information about which you are to write a sentence using plus...que / moins...que / aussi...que. Min.standard: at least 3 sentences in accurate French.

6. Writing. Le Passé Composé. You are becoming confident in the use of the PASSÉ COMPOSÉ. Can you write about a particularly interesting weekend. You are limited only by your imagination in both ideas and expressions used. Minimum standard: that the teacher is left speechless by your exciting story!
