Learning Intentions - Unités 7 & 8 - "La Nouvelle Patinoire" & "Interdit aux Chiens"
1. Speaking. Can you hold a short telephone conversation? You will ring up a friend of yours. He/She is not in, but the brother/sister answers the phone. You are to find out where your friend is, what time he/she will be back, and offer to ring back. Minimum standard: all French used is understandable + Giving & Understanding Directions.
2. Speaking. Can you give simple Directions in French. You will be asked how to get to two places on a map. Minimum standard: that the person arrives at their destination.
3. Listening. You will hear 5 short conversations in French. You are to choose what type of shop you would probably hear it in. Minimum standard: at least 3 conversations correctly understood.
4. Matching up. Can you read and understand expressions in French? You will need to match up beginnings & ends of sentences.
5. Reading. Can you read and understand a passage of French? You will be given a passage in French about making arrangements for an outing, and you are to answer in English the questions that follow. Minimum standard: 7questions answered correctly.
6. Writing. Can you write about what items belong to what people? Using the possessive pronouns on page 95, can you rewrite some sentences saying exactly what belong to whom? Minimum standard: at least 3 sentences correctly rewritten.
7. Writing. Can you write in the past tense about what you did during a particular evening out with friends? You need to mention your parents, permission to go out, activities, when you got home. Minimum standard: most of your French is accurate.
8. Interactive Museumd in Paris. Can you list key points about La Villette (La Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie) and Le Centre Georges Pompidou?.
