Learning Intentions - Unité 2 - “Du lèche-vitrines à Brive”
1. NCEA 1.3A Conversation. While on holiday in Auckland, you went shopping and bought things and did “touristy” things. Have a chat to your friend about how things went. (See NCEA booklet)
2. Can you listen to and understand someone in a marché talking about what is sold and the cost of them. You will be given a list of items in English. As you hear the person speaking, choose what is being mentioned and write down the cost of it using numbers only. Minimum standard: 4 out of 5.
3. Can you read and understand expressions in French. You will be given a list of 10 words / expressions. On the other side of the page are simple explanations and definitions in French. You are to match them up. Minimum standard : 7 out of 10.
4. Can you read and understand the French on pages 19 - 22? You will be given a short passage of French with 5 words missing. You are to choose the best word for each gap. Minimum standard : 4 words correctly chosen.
5. Can you write a report about your holiday in Auckland for a French magazine? You will need to write a couple of paragraphs (at least 100 words) for a column. Minimum standard : that what you write is on the topic, in accurate and understandable French. You will be rewarded for using higher register French and for using mots de liaison. You must “show off” your French!
6. Shopping in France. Can you mention and explain some key words / expressions / cultural habits to do with SHOPPING in France?
