Update From the Meier Fam
Today’s the Day A few weeks ago, Jackson started developing flu-like symptoms. After 2 urgent care visits, we ended up in the ER and that’s where our life changed in an instant. His blood work was out of whack, and they diagnosed Jackson with Leukemia. We were told this is a treatable and curable cancer, which is the only train of thought for us. It’s going to be a long, hard road ahead, but we got this. We truly cannot put into words the overwhelming support we have received. Prayers, thoughts, well wishes, texts, gift cards, calls, etc. It’s just so humbling to know we have such a support system. Unbelievable. We’re so grateful for Jackson’s baseball community (Millard West, Nebraska Prospects, Southeast CC and Northern Colorado). The brotherhood between these boys is like no other. They’ve shown up in the hundreds and we cannot be more thankful. Our family and friend support system is HUGE- thank you for supporting us, crying with us and praying with us. Thank you for being there for Jackson’s 3 brothers also. As much as they tell us they’re ok, it’s nice to know we have people looking after them too! All we want is for Jackson to make a FULL recovery. He's so strong and has such a great attitude. Please continue to pray for him and his strength during the next couple weeks/months. A special Thank You to Jackson’s Southeast Community College coaches TY and Dion Parks for putting together this support: https://bluechipfundraising.com/campaign/meierstrong/fundraiser/412/ And our good friend Scott Dermer has also put together a t-shirt/hoodie fundraiser: https://jacksonmeier2.itemorder.com/shop/home/ Today’s the day. Chemo starts today for our buddy. It’s one day closer to beating this. One day closer to a cure. One day closer to going HOME! We got this- together! Much love- Jon and Jenny
