Wheeler Community,
Students have been working hard to complete their Winter Reading MAP Assessments this week. We are celebrating many students who have met their growth goals and persevered on this assessment. I am so proud of all of our Wildcats!
Next week on Tuesday, Wednesday (2nd-5th only), Thursday students will take their Math MAP Assessment. Your classroom teacher can provide exact dates and times. You can help your child to be successful these days by ensuring they get a good night of sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and encourage them to simply try their best.
An apology from me: it has come to my attention emails from 1st Place Spirit Wear have been sent to our community - I truly thought these were only coming to me and appreciate folks who made me aware of this. The vendor has confirmed there will no longer be any emails sent from them. We will only promote via newsletter & social media.
And a huge Thank you to those who are participating and donating to our Wheeler Pint Size Heroes Blood Drive tomorrow at Wheeler!

We know that winter weather means less students walking/biking to school and more traffic for us at Wheeler. This can be very stressful. We would ask to the best of our ability to refrain from blocking traffic by creating double lanes in the back of the building as seen in the picture below.
Here are some other notes:
On Polk Street, please try to pull up as far as you can in order to fit more cars. This is immensely helpful for the issue seen in the picture below, especially for vehicles arriving well before dismissal.
The only parking every should be in the lot, in the neighborhood, and on the stretch of Polk St. from the Wheeler parking lot entrance to 178th St.
We are working really hard to keep sidewalks clear and safe. We know it has not been perfect this week and are working to keep things safe for students.
