Wheeler Community,
This semester is flying by. In your child's Friday Folder today, you will find their Quarter 3 report card.
Students and staff are entering the last two months of school. With this season, we start MAP and NSCAS testing. Our third through fifth graders will kick off NSCAS testing on March 31st. Please look for communication from your classroom teachers regarding the exact testing dates for your child(ren) - you can also find that schedule below in this newsletter. You can help set your child up for success by ensuring they get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast. Testing at Wheeler will span throughout April and May.
Please reach out to our staff with any questions or concerns.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. Greg Wunderlich
Principal

Miss Clay will be leaving MPS to start a new adventure in Texas! We wish her the best of luck!
Mrs. Brown is staying at Wheeler! She will be transitioning from the HAL Facilitator position (part-time) to joining our 3rd grade team!
Mrs. Reynolds will be leaving MPS and is starting a new position in Council Bluffs. We will miss her dearly!
Mr. Thier is transitioning out from the part-time reading intervention position
An exciting development this spring was the approval for Wheeler to hire a Full Time Counselor. This has long been a wish and hope from the school improvement team.
Previously, Mrs. Reynolds had been acting as both School Psychologist and Counselor. This model provided us to have her 5 days a week, but the balance of both of those positions often proved difficult. We will now have a full time counselor in Miss Fenner as well as a half-time School Psychologist (like most MPS schools) to support our students,
We hope your family is enjoying diving into our One School, One Book selection, The Smartest Kid in the Universe, as much as we are! There is something truly special about knowing that every student, teacher, and family in our community is turnignthe same pages at the same time. Whether you're reading together before bed or chatting about the latest chapter over dinner, we hope this book is sparking some great conversations and a little extra magic in your home. On Wednesday, students brought home a book and packet, take a look below at digital copies of those items and don't forget to check out our One School, One Book website! 🧠🌟📚 https://sites.google.com/mpsomaha.org/oneschoolonebook/home
