Power
A combination of strength and speed – explosive movements EG: driving off the sprinting starting blocks, throwing a javelin
Speed
The differential rate at which an individual is able to perform a movement or cover a distance in a period of time
Leg speed – eg: sprinter, Usain Bolt
Hand speed – Boxer, Danny Green
Agility
The skill of changing direction with speed EG: a touch football player requires agility to dodge a defender
Coordination
The ability to use two or more body parts together eg: hand-eye coordination, foot-eye coordination
Balance
Static balance is maintaining equilibrium while stationary and dynamic balance is maintaining equilibrium while moving
Reaction Time
The time taken to acknowledge stimuli and respond appropriately
