In visual arts, texture is one of the Elements of Art. It is the perceived surface quality of an artwork. Generating texture in a drawing is one of the most essential drawing skills. This is what makes drawing appears natural and gives a level of realism that is instantly appreciated by the viewers when the artwork has varying amounts of texture, from subtle to very rough, in it.
