“Happiness, anger or confusion… How does a work of art make us feel?
In making art, we draw upon our emotions to convey our feelings. Our full range of emotions thus forms a rich palette from which we draw from to bring colours to the works we create.
We only need to look within ourselves to feel what we see and create what we feel. Afterall, a work of art is good not because it looks like something, but rather because it feels like something.

Artist’s Statement: The inspiration of my artwork came from Pop Art Heroes. Ash and Pikachu form the ultimate Pokemon duo. They are my favourite heroes. Ash is a Pokemon trainer, and Pikachu was his first Pokemon. Together, they symbolise strength and victory.

Artist’s Statement: In my artwork, I intentionally coloured Batwoman wearing purple and blue. Purple shows her strength and courage, and blue shows her calm and smart nature. The background is yellow and orange to make her stand out and show her energy and bravery. The colours I used help tell her story of power and confidence. This artwork celebrates girl power, showing that girls and women can be heroes too. Batwoman inspires everyone to be brave, follow their dreams, and stand up for what is right.

Artist’s Statement: Stormtroopers are loyal soldiers of the evil empire. Their uniforms are usually white. However, a handful of them have awakened from being under the brainwashing spell. These unexpected heroes then go on to help turn the tides against the imperial rule. Notable names such as Captain Rex, The Bad Batch and even Finn are among some of these legends.

Artist’s Statement: In my artwork, I drew and coloured Batwoman wearing bright red. Red is a strong colour that shows power and bravery. Batwoman is a superhero who fights for justice and helps people. She shows that girls can be strong and do anything they want. I used red to show how fearless and powerful she is. Artist’s Statement: The idea came from a Japanese manga Doraemon as it is my mother’s favourite cartoon character when she was a little girl. I drew Doraemon and its closest friend, Nobita. They both have a strong bond and will never leave each other’s side. This is what ‘True Friendship’ is.

Artist’s Statement: This character in Beyblade was my favourite and Free De la Hoya used to be the No. 1 blader in the world. He has golden yellow hair and wore brownish yellow clothes which made me relate to the concept of monochromatic colours we are learning. In order to let the character stand out, I chose a cool colour for the background.

Artist’s Statement: I chose to use coloured pencils instead of oil pastels as I have better control of the materials. The focus is the use of warm and cool colours which were green, orange, yellow. This is one of my favourite character in Pokemon and it has the ability to air lock, which blocks all weather-condition effects.

Artist’s Statement: I infused my name into my artwork as I want to try to create a Pop Art feel like those poster, I focused on 2 shades of colours green and orangey yellow. The contrasting colours do bring out the idea of Pop Art.
